Injury settlement with Miami
The Dolphins released Snead (undisclosed) from the reserve/injured list Saturday with an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Snead caught on with Miami in late July after appearing in four regular-season games for the 49ers in 2023. He caught one pass for 13 yards across his two preseason outings with the Dolphins, but he was set to miss the entire 2024 season after being placed on injured reserve Monday. Now that he's been let go with an injury settlement, Snead will be able to sign with another team once he is fully healthy.

Lands on season-ending IR
The Dolphins placed Snead (undisclosed) on injured reserve Monday.
Analysis: Snead landed with Miami early in training camp, but his placement on injured reserve now rules him out for the entire 2024 season, unless he can reach an injury settlement. The nine-year veteran suited up for four regular-season games with the 49ers back in 2023.

Inks deal with Miami
The Dolphins signed Snead on Wednesday.
Analysis: Snead, a nine-year NFL veteran who's spent the majority of his career with the Ravens and Saints, has found a new home in Miami. He played just 70 total snaps in four regular-season games with the 49ers in 2023, so he'll likely be competing for a depth role in the Dolphins' wide receiver room as the preseason progresses.

Back to practice squad
Snead reverted to the 49ers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Elevated for NFC Championship Game
The 49ers elevated Snead to the active roster Saturday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Snead signed with the 49ers' practice squad Dec. 27 after being let go from the main roster one day earlier. If he's active for Sunday's game against the Lions, it'll be the first time he's suited up since Week 16 against the Ravens. In four appearances during the regular season, Snead caught two of three targets for 14 yards.

Gets waived
The 49ers waived Snead on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Snead was originally promoted from San Francisco's practice squad to its active roster Monday to fill in for an injured Jauan Jennings (concussion), but Snead is now set to become a free agent assuming he's not claimed by another team during the current waiver period. Signed to active roster
The 49ers signed Snead to their active roster from their practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Snead will provide extra depth at receiver for Monday's matchup versus the Ravens as Jauan Jennings (concussion) is out. Snead had already been elevated the maximum of three times from the practice squad, so San Francisco had to sign him to the active roster in order for the 31-year-old to be eligible to play.

Snead reverted to San Francisco's practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Snead failed to record any stats while playing 14 snaps on offense in Sunday's win against the Jaguars. Promoted from practice squad
The 49ers elevated Snead to the active roster Saturday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: This will be the second time Snead has been elevated by the 49ers since joining their practice squad Sept. 1. Snead reverted to San Francisco's practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Snead saw playing time on both offense and special teams during the team's win against Arizona on Sunday and managed to catch his only target for nine yards. Returns to San Francisco
The 49ers signed Snead to their practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: Snead made four appearances for the 49ers last year, playing 68 total snaps (30 offensive). Heading into his age-31 season, the veteran wideout has a plethora of experience, especially on special teams, but he hasn't finished with more than 35 receiving yards since 2020.

Victim to roster cuts
Snead was released by the 49ers on Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Snead re-signed with the 49ers on a one-year deal during the offseason. He was the favorite to return both punts and kicks to go along with providing receiver depth, but the team has ultimately opted to go in another direction. It now remains to be seen if the 30-year-old will land on the team's practice squad or look for an opportunity elsewhere.

Snead caught one of two targets for six yards in Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Snead was promoted from Carolina's practice squad to make his team debut, working as the fourth receiver behind DJ Moore, Robby Anderson and Terrace Marshall. The Raiders released Snead on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Since bursting on the scene with 69 receptions for 985 yards and three touchdowns in his first NFL season with the Saints in 2015, Snead has seen his production drop off in the years that have followed. After inking a one-year deal with Las Vegas this offseason, Snead wasn't expected to fill a major role in the pass-catching corps, but he asked for his release after he got less playing time than he anticipated. Secures tough reception on MNF
Snead caught his only target for 15 yards in Monday's 28-14 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Snead not only picked up a first down on his lone reception, but he also drew an unnecessary roughness penalty that advanced the Raiders another 15 yards. Snead caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's 26-17 win over the Steelers.

Plays just two snaps Monday
Snead saw two snaps and dropped his lone target during Monday's 33-27 win over the Ravens.
Analysis: Snead dropped a critical red-zone target in overtime that led to a Ravens interception. The 28-year-old wideout appears to be firmly behind Zay Jones -- who saw 20 snaps -- on the depth chart, and, barring injuries, he will not be fantasy relevant this year. Snead has finished with at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in each of his two previous seasons with the Ravens.

Lands in Las Vegas
Snead agreed to a one-year contract with the Raiders on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Snead is the second veteran wideout to join the Raiders in free agency, alongside fellow potential starter John Brown. While Brown operates best as a deep threat, Snead's skill set lends him to usage in the slot, as does his reliability as a blocker in the running game. After Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards failed to live up expectations as immediate starters in their rookie campaigns, the addition of two veteran wideouts could alleviate some pressure for them as sophomores.

Could leave Baltimore
Snead isn't sure if he'll re-sign with the Ravens this offseason, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: The 28-year-old slot receiver is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March, coming off a 33/432/3 receiving line in 13 regular-season games in 2020. Snead's tenacity made him a good fit in Baltimore's run-heavy offense, but the team may reconsider its priorities at wide receiver, perhaps looking for players with more ability to separate from defensive backs. 2020 third-round pick Devin Duvernay would be one option to replace Snead if the veteran doesn't end up re-signing with…read more

Suits up Sunday
Snead (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's wild-card game against the Titans.
Analysis: Snead, who logged back-to-back limited practices Thursday and Friday, will thus return to action after missing the Ravens' Week 17 win over the Bengals. In 13 games this past season, Snead carried modest value in PPR formats, recording 33 catches (on 48 targets) for 432 yards and three TDs. That's a context that should carry into the postseason, with fellow wide receiver Marquise Brown bringing more big-play upside to the table in Baltimore's run-heavy offense.

Questionable for Sunday
Snead (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's wild-card game at Tennessee.
Analysis: After missing Wednesday's practice, Snead wrapped up the week with back-to-back limited listings on the Ravens' injury report. He'll be looking to return to action for the first time since Week 16, when he injured his ankle. Baltimore will make a ruling on Snead's availability about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:05 p.m. ET kickoff.

Snead (ankle) returned to a limited practice Thursday.

Snead (ankle) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Hopeful for wild-card round
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that he's hopeful Snead (ankle) will be available for Sunday's wild-card game against the Titans, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: Snead missed the Week 17 win over the Bengals after being unable to practice all week. His next step will be to practice in some capacity when the Ravens take the field either Wednesday or Thursday. Inactive Week 17
Snead (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Takes questionable tag into Week 17
Snead (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Analysis: Snead wasn't able to practice in any capacity this week, but the Ravens evidently believe he has a 50-50 shot of suiting up in the regular-season finale. Since returning from a two-game absence Week 14 following a positive COVID-19 test, Snead hasn't made much of an impact in the Baltimore passing attack. Over his first three games back in action, Snead has drawn eight targets, turning them into five receptions for 53 yards and no touchdowns.

Snead (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Snead picked up an ankle injury during last weekend's win over the Giants, finishing the day with two receptions for 24 yards. If the veteran wideout is unable to suit up at Cincinnati in Week 17, Dez Bryant and Devin Duvernay would both be candidates for increased roles.

Hurts ankle Sunday
Snead (ankle) caught both targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Snead only played 12 snaps, which is likely tied to the ankle injury he picked up during Sunday's win, according to Aaron Kasinitz of PennLive.com. His practice status this week should provide a better indication of whether he'll play in the season finale versus Cincinnati. Snead did not catch his lone target in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Snead played 65 percent of the snaps but drew just one target, marking a season-low. He averaged more than 4.0 targets per game prior to Sunday, so he figures to be more involved in Week 16 provided that it's not another blowout scenario the way it was in Week 15.

Makes four grabs in Indy
Snead secured all four of his targets for 37 yards during Sunday's 24-10 win over the Colts.
Analysis: Snead had five catches for 106 yards against Pittsburgh in Week 9, but he unsurprisingly fell back to earth in Indianapolis. The veteran slot man has only eclipsed 50 receiving yards twice this season, and he's only drawn five or more targets on once occasion. While he'll still see regular playing time at New England in Week 10, Snead should be considered a fairly low-ceiling fantasy option.

Paces team in receiving during loss
Snead corralled five of seven targets for 106 receiving yards during Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: Snead led all Ravens in targets and catches, while his receiving total was 11 yards short of being three times more than the team's No. 2 option. The 28-year-old entered Sunday's contest averaging fewer than 25 receiving yards per game on the season, with no more than four catches in any contest. He was on the field for 67 percent of the snaps, a slight uptick from his 60 percent clip Week 5. Efficient on low target volume
Snead caught both of his targets for 20 yards against the Football Team.
Analysis: The veteran slot receiver has caught all 10 of his targets this season for 117 yards and a touchdown. While that's great efficiency, it also shows that Snead isn't drawing targets at a high rate (2.5 Tar/Game). He hasn't seen more than two targets in any game since the season opener, and he hasn't scored since then, either. Snead is a low-volume slot receiver in this offense. He will face the Bengals on Sunday.

Quiet against Chiefs
Snead caught both of his targets for a total of four yards Monday against the Chiefs.
Analysis: Snead played the most snaps (47) of any Baltimore receiver but didn't factor much into the passing game. He was fifth among pass-catchers in targets and only mustered four yards on his two catches. Snead has now seen just two targets in each of his last two games after a big season opener with four catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. He will face Washington in Week 4.

Efficient on low volume
Snead caught both of his targets for 29 yards Sunday against the Texans.
Analysis: The veteran slot receiver continues to be effective when targeted, having caught all six of his targets for 93 yards and a touchdown through two games. Snead has a catch of at least 20 yards in each game as well. While Snead is effective in his role, it's not a role that adds up to much volume. He ranks fourth on the team in target share, and Baltimore has attempted a league-low 50 passes as a team. Snead and the Ravens will take on the Chiefs in Week 3.

Contributes to rout Sunday
Snead caught all four of his targets for 64 yards and a score in Sunday's 38-6 win over the Browns.
Analysis: The veteran slot receiver played the second-most snaps among Baltimore receivers Sunday and tied for second on the team in targets as Lamar Jackson was spreading the ball around. Snead was extremely effective with his opportunities, though, as he caught all of his targets, including a 19-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Baltimore's passing game still flows through Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown, but Snead is still the primary slot receiver in an explosive aerial attack.

Drops weight during offseason
Snead said Wednesday that he feels faster after losing seven pounds during the offseason, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The change could help Snead gain separation from cornerbacks, but blocking is also a huge part of his distinct role in Greg Roman's offense. Despite signing a one-year, $6 million extension last fall, Snead isn't likely to see a big increase from last year's total of 46 targets.

Faces competition from rookies
Snead's passing game role will likely be affected by the Ravens' draft, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Baltimore nabbed Devin Duvernay and James Proche in the draft, and given that receiver was considered by most to be the Ravens' most pressing need entering the draft, this is a problem for Snead. Both players project to start out in the slot, which is where Snead plays. Duvernay poses the biggest immediate threat as he was taken in the third round and is the second-fastest receiver on the team behind Marquise Brown. Zrebiec notes that Snead's blocking ability is important in Baltimore's…read more

Plenty of action in upset loss
Snead hauled in six of eight targets for 56 yards in the Ravens' 28-12 divisional-round loss to the Titans on Saturday.
Analysis: Snead checked in as the Ravens' runner-up in receptions, receiving yardage and targets to top option Marquise Brown. The veteran was a frequent target of Lamar Jackson's in the fruitless comeback effort, and he played his usual steady role in the short-to-intermediate passing window. Despite its relatively productive conclusion, Snead's 2019 season was largely a disappointment from a fantasy perspective, as he saw significant downturns in catches (31) and receiving yards (339) compared to the…read more

Records four touches in win
Snead caught three of five passes for 22 yards during Sunday's 28-10 win over the Steelers, and failed to gain any yards on his lone carry.
Analysis: It was a quiet day for most of the Ravens' weapons, as Lamar Jackson and other front-line players were rested and Baltimore's defense smothered a depleted Pittsburgh squad. Snead was among the exceptions. His five targets were his most since Week 6 and his four touches and 22 yards were his most since Week 5. That should tell you all that you need to know about his role in this offense. After a bye, the Ravens will play the Texans, Bills or Titans in the divisional round. Snead caught five of…read more

Playing time, targets wane
Snead was held without a catch on his lone target Sunday against the Browns.
Analysis: Snead played just 41 percent of the snaps Sunday and was not involved in the passing game while Marquise Brown and Seth Roberts played the most among the Baltimore wideouts. With some key starters sitting out in Week 17, Snead could be more featured in the offense than usual. He won't have the benefit of catching passes from Lamar Jackson, however, as Robert Griffin will be getting the start while Jackson is rested for the playoffs.

Target volume dips
Snead caught his lone target for 15 yards in Thursday's 42-21 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Snead's volume dropped off Thursday after he saw multiple targets in six straight games. That said, Snead hasn't had more than 20 receiving yards in any game since Week 5. With a small target share and a low average depth of target (9.1), Snead doesn't have much in the way of peripheral numbers to portend a major turnaround down the stretch.

Finds end zone vs. Bills
Snead caught three of four targets for 13 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Snead tied for the team lead in targets, and although none of his catches went for more than seven yards, he salvaged his performance with a short touchdown grab in the fourth quarter. The veteran now has three touchdowns in his last three games, giving him a new career high of five for the season. Snead hasn't surpassed 18 receiving yards in any of his last eight outings, however, and will be a risky fantasy play Thursday against the Jets.

Held to 12 yards
Snead caught one of two targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over San Francisco.
Analysis: Snead actually led all Ravens wide receivers in yardage, with only tight ends Mark Andrews and Hayden Hurst surpassing Snead's meager total. Another tough defense looms in Buffalo in Week 14, so Snead will be tough to trust in Baltimore's run-first attack.

Tallies two touchdowns
Snead caught two of three targets for 14 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 45-6 win over the Rams.
Analysis: Snead's receptions were duplicates of each other, as they both came from seven yards out and ended in pay dirt. Those scores marked Snead's first touchdowns since the first month of this season, doubling his total tally to four. Considering his last four stat lines have been nearly identical aside from Monday's touchdowns, Snead's upside remains relatively restricted.

Held to 13 yards in blowout
Snead caught two of three targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 41-7 win over the Texans.
Analysis: Lamar Jackson and the Ravens' offense continue to dazzle, but Snead has largely been left out in the cold. During Baltimore's last five games, during which the team has averaged 36 points per game, he's averaging 12.0 receiving yards per game and hasn't topped 20 yards since Week 5. Snead has shown the ability in the past to make a difference even with limited opportunities, but he just hasn't done so lately. Next up is a matchup against the Rams' 15th-ranked pass defense.

Snags two passes
Snead caught two of three targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 49-13 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Snead played a season-low 22 offensive snaps, which could simply be a result of the blowout nature of this contest. There weren't many opportunities for Snead to make an impact, either, as Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin combined for 22 passing attempts. Still, this is becoming a theme for Snead, as he hasn't surpassed four receptions or 61 yards in a game this year.

Snags both targets
Snead caught both of his targets for 15 yards Sunday against the Patriots.
Analysis: Just days after receiving a contract extension, Snead made good on both of his chances against New England, including a crucial fourth-down conversion. The slot receiver sees an uneven target share, logging three games with five targets and five games with three targets or less. He hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 4 against the Browns and hasn't gone over 20 yards in any of the last three weeks. Snead draws a favorable matchup against the Bengals in Week 10, but it'd take a fantasy roster…read more
